In the summer of 2019, I visited historic sites in Hong Kong related to Japan, England, and today’s Hong Kong.　This work shows the ruins of a network of concrete tunnels, which is called Shing Mun Redoubt. That was built due to the political situation by England. Being used by the military, which did not naturally occur, they have something that artifacts should not have. Even if different regimes and attitudes come and go, the concrete that has unexpectedly carried emotions continues to talk. The only way to understand the complex feelings and history across East Asia is to go to these places and accept them as they are.
